PTO OFFICERS 2011-2012

President - Cindi Hardy

Vice President - Lisa Greene

 Secretary - Rebecca haigh

 Treasurer - Susan Kreis

Serving in the PTO is fun, rewarding and a great way to help meet the needs of the school while meeting great parents, students and faculty.  You will be filled with a sense of accomplishment and joy at what you can achieve through the PTO.  Your heart (and your child's) will swell with pride when you see the results of your contribution to Kenston and our students.

The PTO provides activities and school enhancements that directly enrich students' experiences.  The PTO provided new curtains for the gym stage.  The PTO provided computers to the Library Media Center.  The PTO provided tables for meals and events.

How Can You Help?  There's something for everybody in the PTO.  There's a "Two Hours of Power" program for folks who want to volunteer but can't commit to meetings and long projects.  We promise that if you sign up for Two Hours of Power, we will gratefully (with no strings attached) accept your help for... 2 hours.  Yes, 2 hours (unless you volunteer for us again!)  That's it, for the whole year.

We have short-term projects with a clear start/end date.  These projects might include working on a team for a particular fundraiser, or leading a community service project, or serving refreshments at a school function.  We have larger, more long-term, on-going activities for those people who can offer several hours a month.  So you see, we are a volunteer organization run by volunteers.  All kinds of people can pitch in.  Everyone can offer their natural skills and talents and God-given abilities to strengthen our effectiveness.  YOU can help!  You just need to be willing.  To find out what you can do during the remainder of this year or next year, contact a PTO Officer today!

Ongoing fundraisers include collecting box tops, Campbell’s soup labels, and cell phones.  Also, you can register your Food Lion MVP Card Number towards Food Lion’s Classroom Rewards program.  Just go to www.foodlionmvprewards.com.  Target REDcards can be enrolled in the Take Charge of Education and up to 1% of all your purchases at Target stores or Target.com will be donated to Kenston Forest.  Just go to www.redcard.target.com.  Donate your Coke reward points.  You can register online @ www.mycokerewards.com or send in your Coca-Cola point codes to Kenston Forest and we’ll do the rest.  It all adds up to benefits for our school.
