Kindergarten.  As you think about your education options for next year, we invite you to consider Kenston Forest School.  Your kindergarten child is ready to begin a lifelong adventure of learning, making new friends, and exploring the environment.  Kenston Forest is a fully accredited independent school with smaller class sizes.
Our objective is to educate students not only in the academic subjects but also in traditional values and morals, giving them an excellent foundation to perform in a changing, complex society.
Kenston Forest School kindergarten uses many different teaching strategies in the classroom to accommodate varied learning styles.  Thematic units are used to integrate mathematics, language arts, science, social studies, and art activities in a multi-sensory-based program.  Skills introduced for mastery include phonetic awareness, counting, measurement, and spatial concepts. A hands-on approach in science and social studies allows for interaction and practical applications.  Resource classes provide instruction in art, Spanish, music, and physical education.

Children visit the library weekly for story time and to check out books.  All students are encouraged to participate in the Accelerated Reading Program beginning at the kindergarten level.  Through regularly scheduled field trips, students enjoy plays, the zoo, and local areas of interest that directly correlate with thematic units in the classroom.  Class plays and programs enable each child to express individual creativity.  For their community service project, the kindergarten classes participate in group activities such as the "Socks for Santa" program to provide socks for needy children.

Kindergarten at Kenston Forest School is an exciting and challenging year that provides opportunities for every child to have a successful educational experience in a developmentally appropriate environment.
